Colpoperineoplasty is the positioning of a sagging uterus and decreasing the diameter of the vagina from the point of the uterus.
It is a minimally invasive procedure where incisions are only done internally. The procedure involves the opening of the posterior wall of the vaginal mucosa and then placating the underlying fascia and muscles to tighten the vaginal canal. The vaginal opening is than tightened by proper dissection and suturing of the tissue and muscle damaged by vaginal birth. All the sutures are dissolved and do not need to be removed.
The surgery is pain free after the application of local anesthesia.
